Breanna Paige Garcia is the 2011-2012 Senior Class Valedictorian. She has been an avid student from academics, sports and clubs. Her dream job is anything that lets her share her happiness or anything that allows her to help others.
Garcia gets to share the honor of being valedictorian with none other than her best friend, Paige Perry. “Of course! I hate public speaking. I’m glad Paige is going to be up there with me. However this is going to be a new experience, and I plan on enjoying every second of it.” During her free time Garcia enjoys watching movies, laughing, and reading. The books that really stood out to her were Atlas Shrugged, the Harry Potter series, and The Hunger Games trilogy. Atlas Shrugged taught her a lot about economies and politics. “The amount of creativity the authors had to create these completely new worlds is incredible.” When Garcia isn’t reading or enjoying any other of her hobbies she is busy with sports and clubs and has been involved in at least one sport every year. She was involved with track for four years and cross country for two. The clubs that she has been a part of are key club for three years and JSA for one.

Even our valedictorian has had a case of senioritis, that’s because high school is almost over. “I’m going to be so happy when school is over!,” said Garcia enthusiastically. All of the teachers that Garcia has had over the years made some type of impact on her. She’s thinking about attending the University of Arizona. She wants to study in the medical field to become a nurse, but she would really want to be a nurse that works with the Air Force.

Our hidden talents is what makes us, simply us. The one thing that a lot of people don’t know about her is that she knows how to dance well. She wants to go on stage to perform for a live audience and showcase her dancing. Aside from dancing, Garcia loves chocolate. She argues that chocolate is a food not just a dessert and that chocolate makes her world better. Another thing that Garcia loves is to travel. She would want to visit as many cities as possible but really wants to go to visit is New York. She would love to visit  because so much happens there she would want to experience all that the city has to offer.

Fear is an emotion that we all have felt. Garcia’s greatest fear is to fail because there is so much pressure to succeed and do everything right the first time. She tries not to let the negative thoughts get to her. “It’s hard not to think what if I mess up? What if I’m wrong? What if I can’t do it?,” she needs to realize that failure is just another way to learn, but that it’s easier said than done. Honestly, she isn’t scared easily when it comes to horror movies but if she has time to think she scares herself by over reacting and thinks that scary movies are just a waste of time.
Role models are everywhere, Garcia’s; however, is always there. Her role model just happens to be her dad. Her father is her hero because he is never afraid of what others think. She hopes to be like him one day so she can count on herself as much as he counts on himself. Paige Garcia knows what she likes and what she does not like, she’s a girl on a mission, and nothing will stand in her way.
