Kofa junior Fernando Osuna dreams of becoming a chef in Las Vegas within the next 10 years. He has a passion for cooking and if Osuna had his way he would be at Disneyland as a pastry chef.
Osuna can usually be found in the Culinary Arts room during lunch either helping clean up or cooking something delicious. He is part of Kofa’s King Chefs. “A really good meal or even something simple like an ice cream can just completely make someone happy,” says Osuna. He wants to go to a Culinary school after high school particularly the Culinary School in Phoenix. He says the school has a lot of other art programs and he wants to watch other students study other forms of art as well. His role model is Nikola Tesla. “He was a beast of a man,” said Osuna. “When (Tesla) was little he wanted to be a musician, but then he was shocked by his cat and just wanted to learn about electricity.” Osuna also said that Thomas Edison electrocuted an elephant to prove a point against Tesla. “I’ve always wanted a poster of him just sitting and reading. Then there is a giant electrical machine with electricity shooting out at the walls,” said Osuna.
Outside of school he likes to practice his art. He sometimes will rummage through dumpsters to see if there is anything he can use for his art. He also enjoys music. He plays guitar, piano, and a little drums. He also is a self proclaimed pro whistler. “Honestly I kind of just do what I decide is a good thing to do that day,” said Osuna.
He enjoys psychology but it is just a hobby for him. “I think its just that there are so many weird cases and syndromes and conditions that exist. There’s a phobia that I can’t name right now because I can’t remember where you’re afraid that somehow, somewhere, there is a duck watching you (Anatidaephobia),” said Osuna. “The way the human mind works is interesting and intriguing” “Why do I get a nervous twitch? Why am I feeling the way I’m feeling? Its all just fascinating to me. Weird fact, if you close your left hand, and stick your finger down your throat, your gag reflexes will not engage,” said Osuna.
“Out of life, all I really want is for the people around me to be happy, while the cooking is something I personally enjoy, I enjoy making others happy.”
